Dianella prunina 'Utopia'    'DP303' 

This Dianella prunina is absolutely stunning. It boasts contrasting purple and green foliage that will complement other plants in the Foliage First range. Utopia will be an attractive feature for all gardens adding thrilling colours to any landscape or garden. For most soil types and conditions excluding predominantly wet areas. Suitable for all States up to South East QLD as far North as the Sunshine Coast.

            

Utopia’s foliage has over tones of red mixed with blue green and purple strewn through its foliage.

Description: An elegant clumping, ornamental Australian Flax with distinctive blue and purple foliage. Grows to an average size of 50cm tall by 50cm wide, with graceful flower stems reaching over 1m in height.

Position: Tolerates a wide variety of climatic conditions. Full sun to part shade. Vary hardy, drought and frost tolerant.

Uses: Can be used for mass planting, foliage or accent grassy gardens, adding a unique colour perspective to any garden.

Care: When planting ensure that the base of the plant is not covered with mulch or soil. Plant in a well mulched garden. Fertilise with a slow release fertiliser after two months, and then only if required. Remove older leaves as required to keep the plant looking good. For a better foliage specimen, remove flowering stem before flowering. Once established do not water too much.
