Low Maintenance, short canes
Tough
Dianella caerulea is known as one of the most drought tolerant, adaptable Australian native plants. Underground rhizomes ensure excellent cold survival. It has been tested in the frosts of Canberra, and the humidity of Cairns, with brilliant performance.

Flowers close up
Below: shows a close up of Little Jess's flowers, which form a stunning display.

Masses of Flowers
Little Jess has an abundance of flowers.

Dwarf & Compact
'Little Jess' only grows to 40cm which is about half the height of many forms of Dianella caerulea. Little Jess is a great commercial and domestic plant.

Low Maintenance
An estimated trimming once every 8 years, makes this one of the lowest maintenance plants there is. 'Little Jess' has very short compact canes which will not fall over like the common Dianella caerulea which generally has long canes.

No Irrigation
No Irrigation required once established in most populated areas of Australia. Water well for the first 8 weeks until established. Little Jess is an Australian Native and is often used on roadside plantings, where it performs and looks great, with no irrigation only natural rainfall. In extra dry areas such as Adelaide, Perth or desert areas, occasional top up watering may be required in the warmer months. Increased irrigation frequency will not adversely affect Little Jess. In severe droughts occasional top up watering will result in more beautiful plants.
